Children, Youth & Family @ New Covenant Church

A Place to Worship
Three vibrant, grace-centered worship services are offered each weekend blending the rich legacy of hymns with an upbeat style and modern-day worship songs. Worship centers around hearing God's Word, experiencing God's love and forgiveness through the bread and wine, and fulfilling the Great Commission to go out and make disciples. The Sermon series are theme-based and parallel the Small-group DVD study series.

A Place to Serve
At New Covenant Lutheran Church, opportunities abound to serve as worship leaders in the areas of ushering and greeting, reading, serving communion, fellowship team, music team and DVD/Sound projection team. We invite you to prayerfully consider how God might be encouraging you to use your time and talents in ways that help you to grow spiritually and reach out and share your faith. Here are some of the specific music opportunities for all ages, beginning at birth!

A Place to Grow
Kindermusik at New Covenant is a music and movement program for newborns to preschoolers designed to foster a love of music, rhythm, and self-expression as well as nurture the bond between parent and child through the joys of singing, discovery and adventure. Every class offers a delightful mix of songs and activities and is thoughtfully designed to achieve specific learning and developmental goals. (Tuition and materials fee required.) Contact:

Two Children's Choirs (Cherub Choir for ages 3-6 and the Joyful Noise Choir for ages 7-11) meet during the school year and focus on learning about God's creation and love, Jesus' life and ministry, and being a faithful child of God. Songs are sung, rhythm instruments are played, prayers are spoken, and stories are read. The choir year also includes a Christmas Pageant with a live nativity scene, singing at a Nursing home, and presenting a Musical in February. Participation in the Vacation Bible Experience week in June or the 'Fun' Arts Camp week in July complete the year in delightful and joy-filled ways!

A Jr. High Choir (ages 12-14) and a Sr. High Youth Band (for ages 14-18) provide the finishing touches to the children's music ministries and engage the hearts and minds of these young believers to connect their faith in powerful ways. Songs and dramas are offered during worship occasionally throughout the year as well as for the Youth-Led Worship Service.

A Place to Dance
Spirit Dancers! (ages 5-18) is a spirited dance group that prepares dances for the Christmas and Easter services and as well as other special services during the year. Prior dance training is helpful but not necessary.

A Place to Ring
The HandBell Choir (for high-school and older) is a delightful way to utilize current musical training or brush up those instrumental skills from your past in fun and beautiful ways! Pieces are prepared for worship primarily for the Christmas and Easter seasons.

A Place to Sing
The Waterlife Worship Band is a devoted music team of vocalists and instrumentalists who lead worship and share their love for God passionately in the context of the worship service. It's not just about the music - it's about the spiritual growth of the church! The team is always praying and hoping to add more people to rotate musicians and celebrate the gifts of others.

The Celebration Choir combines the traditional elements of the church choir in a fresh, powerful way. This inspiring choir prepares festive music, such as cantatas, primarily for the Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter seasons. It is an ideal opportunity for those who love to sing in a traditional choir without a weekly commitment throughout the year.

A Place to Play
The Worship Instrumentalists at New Covenant vary from weekly percussion and rhythm accompaniment to complete orchestral accompaniment for special services at Christmas and Easter. Always a joy to hear and watch!
