Children's Ministry @ New Covenant Lutheran Church
Our Commitment to You
New Covenant Lutheran Church Children's Ministry Center invites young children and their families to a special place for discovering and developing as children. We understand the importance of these early years and our staff is focused on the miracle of each child. The Kindergarten and Preschool programs provide:
Our Curriculum and Offerings
We provide a developmental approach using Core Knowledge, which guides the planning of activities for the development of skills and knowledge in the following areas: Motor Development, Social and Emotional Development, Work Habits, Language, Music, Visual Arts, Scientific Reasoning, Mathematical Reasoning and Number Sense. We offer developmentally appropriate social, physical and mental activities while recognizing that the primary way young children learn is through play. The day is divided into large-group, small-group and free-play time. Part of every day will be "Bible Time" when age-appropriate Christian concepts will be introduced.
School hours are from 9:00 - 3:00 with half-day classes from 9:00 - 11:30 and extended care before school from 7:00am and after school until 5:00pm. Registration Process
The registration process begins with the completion of a registration application, a non-refundable fee of $125 and proof of immunizations which secures the child's place.
Children may attend class only after the entire registration packet is complete including all information on the Blue Card and receipt of the first month's tuition. Tuition is calculated on an annual basis and divided into nine equal payments to compensate for school holidays. Class Descriptions

Introduction to the alphabet, phonics, counting and colors; development of fine motor skills including cutting with scissors, painting, drawing, and beginning writing skills; development of large motor skills including running, jumping, riding a bike; development of social/emotional skills including sharing, taking turns, using kind words, helping, independence. Teachers use a variety of materials to stimulate the child’s interest and create learning opportunities. 4’s – for children who turn 4 before November 1. Children continue to develop the skills that were introduced last year and expectations are raised. In addition to all those skills listed for the 3’s, emphasis is given to handwriting, telling time, patterns, sequencing and addition/subtraction. We strive to prepare your child with the knowledge and skills needed to enter Kindergarten the following year. Kindergarten – for children who will turn 5 by December 31. This class offers a challenging, hands-on curriculum which encourages children to explore and excites and catches their interest. We use a guided reading program and offer daily math, science, social studies, and Bible stories. With a 10:1 student to teacher ratio, each child gets individual instruction.
