Gospel-Centered Evangelism and Discipleship
  • The Gospel of Jesus Christ is what we trust in and the only real and lasting hope for our community, our world and our own personal lives.

  • There are many individuals who have never heard the Gospel of forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ.

  • For this reason, we reach out to those who have not heard this promise by sharing our faith with those who are not connected to a living relationship with Jesus Christ that they might discover the love, healing and hope of God in Jesus Christ ( Matthew 28: 16-20 ).

  • We do not apologize for the Gospel or for proclaiming and teaching it as the foundation of our community life ( Romans 1:16 ).

  • As the community of Christ, the law provides us with a guide for our daily living.

  • The law also, ultimately, puts us to death spiritually, so that Christ alone can raise us up again to New Life ( Romans 6: 4-8 ).

  • Baptism is the beginning of this death/life experience.

  • This journey includes our faith-filled response to the call of Jesus, following him above all else, when there is so much in this world that competes for our time, energy and attention.
Love and Respect
  • We are the church, individually, differently gifted and yet called by God to be one community in Christ, through our common vision, mission and ministry.

  • As members of the body of Christ, we are more effective when we work in harmony as a unified whole to represent Jesus Christ ( John 17: 20-23 ).

  • We value the truth ( John 8: 31-32 ) and we value love ( John 13: 34-35 ). When we speak the truth, we must speak it in love, or else we should not say anything.

  • Among us, Christian love is the norm and we encourage conflicts to be resolved according to the teachings of Jesus ( Luke 17: 3 ).

  • We are called to encourage one another ( I Thessalonians 5: 11 ) and to remember that together, we are the body of Christ ( I Corinthians 12: 27-31 ).
Transforming
  • Whether we have been Christians all of our lives or are new to the Christian faith, it is a transforming experience to be encountered by Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit ( Acts 9: 1-31 ).

  • Jesus Christ died for our sin and three days later was raised again to bring us forgiveness, salvation and new life.

  • Jesus doesnt come to you just once, but again and again, every day in our confession and Gods forgiveness.

  • God lifts the curse of sin from our lives ( Romans 12:2 ) and brings us new life in Christ.

  • This transformation experience happens in worship and discipleship, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

  • We can grow in our understanding of this transformation through our involvement in small groups, study and prayer ( Acts 2:42-47 ).
Everyone Serves
  • If we have been in the church for a long time, or if we are new to the church, it is essential that we all know about these important marks of discipleship.

  • We want all to know the importance of weekly worship and daily Scripture reading and prayer.

  • We also want all to experience the richness of Gods love through serving in the church and the community, by growing our giving to a tithe (10%).

  • This means everyone serves!

  • We also give financially to support the ministry of the church.

  • We are called to serve in the church as well as outside of the church. Everyone serves!
We do everything as a Team!
  • God has designed us to work together for a purpose.

  • God has designed each church with a special purpose and His plan is to develop and the carrying out of that ministry with joy! ( John 17:21 ).

  • Each of us has been given spiritual gifts, talents, resources time and a place or a role to fill ( John 15:16 ).

  • God calls us and places us in a community of faith with a purpose ( Acts 17:26 ).

  • No one person is meant to carry out this assignment alone; it wasnt designed that way ( Exodus 18: 13-23 ).

  • We were created to do church as a team!
